This blog is in response to SA392: 3D Modeling & Motion: Fundamentals of Maya. This is a course that I am taking at Oakland University and I will document my thoughts and projects for this course in my blog.
To begin, here is the Course Description and its Obectives:
"This course will investigate Autodesk’s 3D animation software- Maya. We will explore the fundamentals of polygonal and Nurbs 3D modeling techniques as well as primary methods of animation. In addition this course will explore the concepts and
perspectives of digital spatial practices in fine arts and design. The course
will serve as the foundation for further explorations into 3D visual effects,
game development, post-production, and fine art works. Projects will
center on the idea of Simulation; pushing to explore what is computer
generated space. Through reconstructing physical reality and
creating fantastic fictional spaces, we will navigate to the ends of the
tactile world and delve into the recesses of the space held within the
screen.
Through completion of the course, students will be able to demonstrate
primary knowledge of 3D modeling and animation techniques and apply
it to their unique voice in art and design. The experiences will serve as a
springboard for further development within time-based media and spatial
practices."
